OLIVE WOOD

The olive tree, which lives for many centuries, only reaches its maturity after 35 years. Its wood, hard and veined, allows for the sculpture of superb decoration and is particularly resistant for kitchen accessories. The exotic and elaborate grain of the olive wood which hues range from chocolate brown to light caramel as well as the majestic scent of olive is evident in every piece. Olive wood is easily recognized and differentiated from other woods by its unique and aesthetic grain. The artistically smooth and exotic grain of the olive wood, tags it as the most creative wood known to man.

These hand made products are unique not only in design, but also in shape and in beauty. The natural bark scrolling edges show off the richness of the olivewood grain. No two items are identically alike. The Olive Tree is an evergreen tree with edible fruit. When the trees are pruned the wood is sold to our artisans and other craftsmen who use it to create priceless pieces of art.

No olive wood trees are damaged or destroyed in the process of harvesting the wood. Only the pruning is authorized. This is the reason why these pieces are so exceptional.

Due to the nature of the olive wood, small cracks, variations and irregularities in the surface of the wood occur naturally and are not considered flaws, they only add to the charm and artisinal quality of our olive wood products.

In order to maintain its rich luster you may want to lightly polish with olive oil after each use.
